Short films

HCM has produced one award winning short film. Kimbap was written by Sapna Samant and the first film produced by Holy Cow Media. It is an independent production with some crowdfunding via Indiegogo. Kimbap debuted at the Jaipur International Film Festival in 2014. The U.S. prémier was in Maine, Portland at the Bluestocking Film Series. Kimbap won the Best in Show and Audience Choice for Best Film by a Male Director. It was screened at the LadyBug Festival in Göteburg. Sweden, as part of the Bluestocking showcase and will travel with the showcase across America.

Sapna is currently writing another short film and has several other ideas for shorts and features lined up.

We are currently interested in producers who might want to come on board exclusively for short films, to seek independent funding and apply for NZ Film Commission short film funds.

Documentaries

Making a zero budget documentary is a good way to learn about film production and how to communicate with talent in an effective manner. Holy Cow Media produced their first documentary, DANCE BABY DANCE naach gaana hum aur tum in such a manner. An imperfect work perhaps but exudes the principles of the company and passionate storytelling for and of the community. This documentary was part of the first American Online Film Awards Spring Showcase in 2014.

HCM has several documentary subjects in research and ready to go and are looking for partners. We are keen not only on feature length work but also television and digital platforms.
